The top of the line Scorpio VLX 4 wheel-drive is powered by a 2179cc mHawk engine. It delivers 120bhp power with torque of 290Nm at 1800-2800rpm.

9 Scorpio Getaways to turn firefighter
The Mahindra Scorpio Getaway is 4 wheel-drive lifestyle pick-up, with a 2600cc Common Rail Diesel engine. It delivers 115bhp at 3800 rpm and 283Nm of torque at 1700-2200 rpm.

The 4x4 Scorpios will be divided into Rescue, Recovery and Response, and Logistics vehicles

Scorpio as a Rescue, Recovery and Response Vehicle
The Rescue Vehicle will have a Fire Marshal and Rescue, Recovery and Response Marshals. The car is radio-enable to establish connectivity with Race Control (link). These Scorpios will be equipped with world renowned Holmatro(link) hydraulic rescue tools such as the Holmaro Spreader and the Holmatro 'jaws of life' which is used to cut open a car. The Rescue Vehicle also has a Fire Extinguisher.
The Rescue Marshals are trained to operate the necessary equipment which is stationed in the Rescue Vehicle. They are also trained in other emergency aid courses, such as intensive First-Aid, technique of handling an injured driver etc… They are trained to recover a damaged car and techniques for clearing it off the track in time for the race. Over a hundred marshals have already been trained to use this equipment.

One Rescue Vehicle will be parked at a regular interval of 500meters on the service track.
Scorpio as a Logistics Vehicle
One can think of the Logistics Vehicle as the absolute concierge of everything on track- the marshals, their well-being, their equipment and anything and everything that is required for the race to progress as smoothly as possible. The Logistics car is driven around the track, on the adjoining service track, throughout the race for the same.

For e.g. A Fire Logistics Vehicle would be responsible for keeping
a check on the Fire Marshals, their positioning, replenishing their stock of extinguishers etc.

Moreover, the Logistic Vehicle is fitted with a radio. So it helps convey any message a Marshal may have for Race Control or the designated area head.
Scorpio as a Fire Fighter
This is where the humble pick-up turns into a might fire fighter.
9 Scorpio Getaways have been outfitted with
Fireco high pressure pump,  
A 30metre long hose  
600litre water tank, which can be used to get plain water or water-foam mixture (6 percent foam)  
 
2 portable Extinguishers  
Two people are required to operate this machinery, one person start and adjust the desired level of water and foam and the other to handle the nozzle. There will be four Fire Marshals per vehicle. Over 110 marshals have been trained to be Fire Marshal for the race days.

One Fire Vehicle will be stationed every 600 metres.
